India surrendered helplessly on the first day of the Leeds Test. Kohli was bowled out for just 7 runs by the English bowlers. This is India’s ninth lowest score in Test cricket. Third lowest with England. India’s lowest Test run is 36, in Adelaide 2020, with Australia.

India’s batting line-up has been shaky since the start of the first day of the third Test on Wednesday. The first wicket fell in 1 run of the team. Lokesh Rahul caught Butler behind the wicket with Anderson’s ball. Rahul, who was out in the first over, could not open the run record.

Cheteshwar Pujara left for 4 runs. He also caught Anderson’s ball in the hands of Butler. He made 1 run off 9 balls. Before Rohit Sharma, captain Kohli tried to prevent this disaster. They are not very successful.

The pair broke the team by 21 runs. The Indian captain returned with a catch in Butler’s hand off Anderson. Kohli scored 6 runs in 18 balls.

Rohit’s pairing with Ajinkya Rahane was getting stronger. But Robinson prevented it. India lost the fourth pair by 58 runs. Rahane caught Robinson’s ball behind the wicket in Butler’s gloves. He scored 18 runs off 54 balls.

Even after the departure of four top-order batsmen, many were hoping for a big partnership, India would overcome the disaster. But it did not happen. All the subsequent batsmen could not touch the double digit runs. Trying hard to stay at the crease did not help.

Anderson Dagan cannon with the ball in the beginning. Towards the end, India was devastated by the Quran and Overton. Rohit Sharma (19) and Ajinkya Rahane (18) have scored two runs each in India’s innings. Fast bowler Sreesanth remained unbeaten on 7 off 10 balls. James Anderson and Craig Overton took three wickets each for England. Robinson and Quran got two wickets each.

First Test draw. India won the second Test at Lord’s by 151 runs. The third Test is now underway in Leeds. The fourth and fifth Tests will start on September 2 and 10, respectively.
